Send-Off Party for the three PATCANs bound for Busuanga

A surprise send off party was held last night (check the date) at Boracay sa Paranaque.  It was attended by more than 30 deeply concerned ATCs. It was fun and definitely a moment worth remembering for our three comrades. May pabaon na tayo.
So to Jojo, Eman and Mario, take care of each other. Remember everything that was said. PATCA may be dead but you know, our friendship will remain strong. Di namin kayo pababayaan. I may not be your chairman anymore but i'm still the same person. Meaning may magagawa pa rin tayo. Kita nyo naman ang supporta! So, hang in there and let's keep each other posted.

More Harassment

Did you know that Manila Control Tower is being audited daily since last week until November 27? Who is auditing? Jimmy Golez of Iloilo and Victorino Valencia of Manila approach- the internal audit team of ATS. Do they really know how to conduct an audit?
Findings:
Number 1: Discourstesy. They can see daw in our faces that they are not welcome. "Tabi tabi po nuno!"-Respect has to be earned not imposed! And sa recommendation - disciplinary action. HAHAHA! Grounds na pala ngayon ang pagiging pangit para mareprimand.

We are clearing traffic for take-off with our backs turned away from 13 or 06? Huh? Without looking? Isn't it practical that after a quick glance and enough reason to believe that there is no traffic on the threshold, the controller should face and look vigilantly on the path of the taking off aircraft - particularly the deadly runway intersection and the upwind?

Seemingly this is not an audit team but a fault finding committee who gathers anything that will be put against the individual controllers. -Datsalotobull!

wake up!

With all the things that has been happening to the ATCs lately, how the hell can you still sleep soundly at night?
  • The worldwidely respected ATC profession will be downgraded to ATMO (Air Traffic Management Officer) where in we will be performing duties adherent to that of Flight Information Service Stations. For what reasons? To upgrade the unrecognized Airways Communicators so they can also receive the salaries that is should be afforded to professionally trained Air Traffic Controllers.
  • Our juniors belonging to the classes BATS 8,9 and lower, who already underwent their respective facility ratings are being held hostage by the ATS management by withholding their rating certificates. Again why? Simply, because they chose to be active in the Philippine Air Traffic Controllers' Association. Isn't this the same association that worked tirelessly to get our extra allowances? The same association that struggled so we can attain the GOCC status being now Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines? The association that works day and night just to improve the ATC system- our very way of life?
  • What about our IRFs and DRFs and other training requirements as stated in numerous ICAO manuals and documents?
  • Just yesterday, 3 of our comrades receive their office orders to be transferred to a remote part of Palawan. 3 qualified ATCs (ratings being withheld) who is tasked to man a non controlled ATS facility. Gosh.I thought we are undermanned here in Manila. How stupid can management get?
The funny thing is, the people that benefitted more from PATCA are the same people who are giving PATCA a hard time. I thought we Filipinos value "utang na loob"?

When are you gonna wake up? Aren't you tired of living the nightmare? Don't tell me you don't care since fortunately for now, you are not affected. Well sorry to burst your bubble but pretty soon you'll feel the effects too and it might be too late.
